What Nature Can Teach Us About Attention in Uncertain Times
I’m always aware that the community around my work is beautifully diverse. Some of you are here because of my executive coaching and organizational development work. Others are drawn to my interfaith ministry. And many of you are curious about how these worlds intersect.
This recent sermon lives right at that intersection.
In it, I reflect on something both simple and profound:
What might we learn if we paid closer attention to nature?
In a time marked by distraction, uncertainty, and a steady stream of noise, our attention is constantly being pulled outward. Yet nature offers a different rhythm—one that invites us back to intentionality.
In this reflection, I explore:
How strengthening mental discipline can help us navigate complexity
What it means to reconnect with our true nature
The often-overlooked power of the breath as an anchor
And how nature can serve as both mirror and teacher
These aren’t just spiritual ideas—they are deeply practical capacities for how we live, lead, and relate.
Because the truth is:
Who among us couldn’t use more support in paying attention right now?
And who couldn’t benefit from the quiet wisdom of the natural world?
There are some inspirational songs and readings, but if you’d like to focus on the sermon, you can watch the reflection (minutes 28–45) here.
As we move into spring, may you find moments to pause, notice, and reconnect—with yourself and the world around you.
Warmly,
Suze 🌿
